Enduro World Series Val di Fassa Trentino: news and previews of the 2022 edition

On 25 and 26 June Val di Fassa Dolomites will play host to world-class mountain-bike Enduro racing, with a competition that is shaping up to be highly spectacular – and an unmissable event.

The big date of 25 and 26 June is approaching. The best Enduro athletes in the world are about to drop the epic trails of the Val di Fassa Bike District and the local Organizers Board is hard at work to put together a top-notch event.
“Our goal is to make sure that the Val di Fassa Trentino event remains one of the athletes’ favourite on the Enduro World Series calendar and, at the same time, turn it into one of the most exciting for the general public and enthusiasts alike,” says William Basilico, the president of the Organizers Board.
The whole of Val di Fassa and the town of Canazei in particular are getting ready to welcome teams and exhibitors and – finally – plenty of spectators. During the weekend all enthusiasts will be treated to the big show taking place on the race tracks and in the Event Village, while enjoying lots of activities and offers – sport-related and non – prepared for them in the Valley.
And with the help of the Fassalift service, it will be easy to reach and watch the Special Stages trackside while those who want to experience something unique will be able to get up to the “terrazza delle Dolomiti”, the balcony over the Dolomites at Sass Pordoi, a privileged point of view to admire the panorama of majestic peaks all around. For those who are looking for a more dynamic break, the staff of the Fassa Sport Check Point offices and our Fassa Bike Guides will be close at hand to help you organize your own adventure.
As for the race, after the Enduro World Series opening round in Scotland, the tension is building up, as does the expectation for the battle amongst top riders.
Our fellow countrymen Mirco Vendemmia, 69th overall in the Men’s and Sophie Riva, 2nd in Women’s Under 21 category, proved to be really in form.
The level of competition in EWS continues to grow and the positions of the top riders are often decided by tenths of a second. Time gaps are tiny: the top 37 positions are all within 1-minute and the top 98 riders are all within a 2-minute gap over 18 minutes of racing.
The race course will be announced on Friday 17 June, but we are happy to anticipate some details about the Val di Fassa Trentino round.
The EWS race, dedicated to the pros, will feature 5 Special Stages, including the Pro Stage on Saturday, while the EWS100 will consist of 4 Special Stages. All trails used for racing have been upgraded with new sections, just built and never used before, so don’t be caught out by unexpected, spectacular passages, in a mix of open and fast sections at altitude and more technical bits in the woods.
Waiting for you in the Event Village – in between team paddocks and exhibitors’ marquees – the delicious, EWS-branded, craft beer and the event-dedicated merchandise with the 2022 new graphics – small, quality items to add to your collection of great memories from the EWS Val di Fassa Trentino events.
